NLP News Store Now Open Your Mind
By some things in the store, you usually find other things that may interest you. Maybe even something that you were actually looking for. Possibly the item that you didn’t even know you needed. And when you do know, now, that it’s exactly what you need, do you even have to stop and consider buying it? You’d probably be on your way to the checkout, happy with your purchase.
Have you ever experienced finding something purely by chance? Or found precisely what you need without really needing to look? A certain synchronicity… which reminded me of an experience I had like this recently.
I was looking for a book - “The Richest Man In Babylon” - and had been searching for a couple of minutes under various sections but couldn’t see it anywhere. I had forgotten the name of the author and this made my search even more difficult. After thumbing through a few other related titles, I decided to ask at the counter if they had a copy in stock.
As the cashier was busy with a customer ahead of me in the queue, I waited patiently. Glancing round, I noticed another book to my right. It had “Babylon” in the title but wasn’t quite what I needed. Looking round again, another book with the word “Babylon” in the title. Isn’t strange how we’re able tune into things? Still… not quite what I was looking for.
Asking at the counter, they did a quick search on the computer to check for the titles. Apparently they had one copy left in stock and should have been exactly in the place where I had been looking. I returned and looked again but still couldn’t find it.
It was at this point that a second member of staff approached me. She explained that she had overheard my conversation and remembered that she had placed the book on another shelf as she was still in the process of sorting out the titles. She then went to look for the book and returned with exactly what I was looking for.
And it was then that I realised something. Sometimes, no matter how hard I try to do something, there are often unseen forces that will give me what I need. Right into my hands in this case. Trust the universe. And all I had to do was ask!
