NLP & Hypnosis: Be Careful What You Wish For

Hi All (And “Hej” to my Swedish friends!),
I am now solutions focused. Not a day goes by without an issue or a problem being addressed and action being taken. And the best part? I can do it in my sleep!
When you think back to the times you’ve spent dealing with issues and problems - possibly being kept up at night with worry - wouldn’t it have been useful if you were just presented with the solution that, you knew deep down inside, was the right one? I remember times when I would be so intensely focused on a problem that I’d feel so confused and frustrated. Maybe it was a work situation, with deadlines coming up. Or a personal problem that I didn’t want to deal with…
…we’ve all been there. Haven’t we?
And as you’re reading this, probably agreeing with me right now, you’re also wondering if there’s a solution. Some way of dealing with the issues, without getting worked up, without the sleepless nights and without the worry.
And there is. There is. THERE IS! (For you 3 times convincers
!).
If I told you that there was a way that you can find the solutions to your problems AND get a good nights sleep, then would be useful to you? I get the feeling that you’re curious, right now…
So how does this work? And how would I know that this would be right for me?Well, let me tell you about the last days of my NLP World Master Practitioner training and how this idea came about.
As some of you may already know, the Master Prac’ that NLP World teaches has a great emphasis on “trusting your unconscious mind”. Let’s face it, if someone were to constantly say bad things about you to your face, curse at you and put you down all the time, then would you trust them? Probably not, right?
So ask yourself now, why do you trust your conscious mind so much? (Did you like that reframe?). The little voice inside of your head - so present, so real - damaging and detrimental: is there really a way of turning it round?
I thought about this during the Master Prac’ training and realised that I needed to trust my unconscious mind more. Realising that in order to become aligned and focused, the captain of my ship would need to ensure that the crew had full instructions and obeyed them to the letter!
So on the day when I partnered with Mikael (Billander), he asked me if there were any suggestions that I would like to put in to create a more compelling future. To this I replied that “I would like the ability to solve problems in my sleep“. A stroke of genius on my part (if I may say
)… or was it?
Mikael, brilliantly went about doing the job of clearing out my limiting beliefs and re-organising my values system. He installed my top 3 values of Freedom, Time and Money and these are really starting to mould my reality. Using a very pleasurable hypnotic induction, I vaguely remember his voice on the outskirts of my mind as he delivered my requested suggestion…
And you know what happened?
Well, for the last 4-5 months since our NLP Master Practitioner training, I noticed that during the early stages some bizarre things were happening. As I was starting to learn more about Internet Marketing, I would go to bed thinking about various things and then wake up with a multitude of ways in which I could do things. Problems that I went to bed with would magically have solutions when I awoke.
What’s wrong with that, I hear you say?
For a start, I was waking up at around 4:30 in the morning on most days, feeling full of energy and buzzing with the excitment at the various ways that I could approach a problem. It’s a great feeling knowing that there is a solution. The problem is: which one?
Remembering that my suggestion was to “come up with solutions“, I have now amended my own suggestion so that I only need to go to sleep and wake up with what I know is the right thing to do. What better place to trust your unconscious mind, than during sleep, right? Adding on to that, I’ve also built in some choices so that I can choose to wake at 4:30, disrupt my wife and kids, wake up the cats and start work OR I could lie in until around 6-7ish and feel rested when I awake, keeping all the learnings for when I need them.
So, what kind of solutions have I now come up with? And where am I at? Well, here’s a quick list to inspire you:
- Had a holiday in Malaysia and came back in First Class. Great upgrade when your brother-in-law is the Captain! This is really how to travel. Now committed to flying First Class in the future!
- Shaved all of my hair off.
- Stopped smoking.
- Got my voluntary redundancy payment.
- Joined 2 Internet Marketing courses and actively learning to improve my skills.
- Started a personal blog.
- Found an accountant.
- Started my own business “Knowledge Constructs” - confirmed yesterday (Hooray! Look out for this soon!
) - Constantly reframing products & services to find ways to make more money (one of the top 3 values!).
- Set up the NLP News Updates website for students to become inspired and learn from each other.
- Currently working with Terry on helping with the NLP World website. Watch out for the new version soon!
- Help out at the local school for 1 hour a week (find out more from Cher about how to use NLP in Education)
- Helped out at the NLP World 2 Day Introductory event.
- Helped out at this week’s 7 Day NLP World Practitioner training.
Most of this stuff has literally happened in the last month or so - I spent around 4 months frustrated and confused until I realised something… But that’s the subject of next month’s post
!
All in all, I would say that the “Unconscious Solution Energy Intergration Technique” (or USE-IT - I should really trademark that
) is a powerful technique that you should all try.
Firstly, I’d recommend that if you’ve not already signed up for your Master Practitioner training from NLP World, then do so now - and mention to Terry that Zain recommended the course when you speak to him (I get a bonus, a pat on the back and a nice feeling when I help people
!). Seriously though, it’s an excellent way of clearing out your issues and re-aligning yourself to become the laserbeam!
B) Remember you have NLP skills, so use them. Even if it is just on yourself. The more positive changes you can make to yourself have an effect on the world around you. So trust your unconscious mind and let it point you to the good path!
And 3) just be careful what you wish for! Heed the words of my cautionary tale… Remember our dreams DO come true - so why not make it a good one, NOW…!
